Aneurysm, Dissecting (medical condition)

A tear that develops in a part of the aortic blood vessel wall. The three layers of the blood vessel wall separate and cause it to weaken and the aorta to dilate. The condition is fatal if untreated as the weak spot can burst resulting in a hemorrhage. See also Aneurysm, Dissecting
