the syndrome of systemic lupus erythematosus induced by exposure to drugs, especially procainamide or hydralazine, and characterized by antihistone antibodies. More benign than the usual disease, with less renal involvement. The syndrome clears after stopping the offending drug. SYN: hydralazine syndrome.
