Kyasanur Forest disease

(ki-as´ә-nldbomacr) a severe type of hemorrhagic fever seen in the Mysore State of India, caused by a flavivirus called the virus . The usual animal reservoirs are monkeys and voles, and the vector for human infection is ticks of the genus Haemaphysalis . Besides the fever and hemorrhagic manifestations, there is also a rash.
