Acetophenone

Acetophenone is the organic compound with the chemical formula C6H5C(O)CH3. It is the simplest aromatic ketone. It occurs as a colourless liquid that is slightly soluble in water. Acetophenone has a sweet pungent odour of orange blossom or jasmine, with an odour threshold of about 0.83 milligrams per cubic metre. It is a precursor to useful resins and fragrances. [1,2]
