EPA Has Extended TSCA Inventory Review Deadline

EPA Has Extended TSCA Inventory Review Deadline

The US EPA has extended its deadline for review regarding chemicals in the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Inventory that have been slated to lose their confidentiality protections.

Originally, stakeholders were given until 14 May 2021 to notify the agency of errors on the list, but in response to stakeholder requests for additional time, the deadline has been moved to 30 June 2021.

The EPA received letters from the BASQ and the American Chemistry Council requesting more time.

Concerns were raised regarding “the potential that some of the chemicals overlap with those reported under the Active-Inactive rule and the perception that EPA identified these chemicals through reliance only on 2020 Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule submissions.”
