Those nonprimary protective items and equipment that are carried on the person of the wildland fire fighter in such a manner that they are located outside of the protective garments. These items include, but are not limited to, utility belts and harnesses, backpacks, radio packs, goggles, chain-saw chaps, fire shelter packs, and over-the-ear hearing protective devices but exclude closure devices.
