Areolar venous plexus

[TA] a venous plexus in the areola surrounding the nipple, formed by the mammary veins, and sending its blood to the lateral thoracic vein; erectile tissue of the areola of the nipple. SYN: plexus venosus areolaris [TA], circulus venosus halleri, Haller circle (2), vascular circle (3), venous circle of mammary gland.
