Asymmetric crying face association

Unilateral facial weakness which may be associated with heart defects. The face appears symmetric at rest, the mouth being pulled downward to one side when crying owing to unilateral partial weakness involving the lip depressor muscle (depressor anguli oris). Genitourinary, respiratory, and other abnormalities may be associated. Mental retardation in some cases.
