Baermann test

(for extraction of soil nematodes from earth and detecting larvae of Strongyloides stercoralis in feces) a specimen of soil or feces is suspended over gauze or wire mesh in a water-filled funnel to which a piece of rubber tubing is attached; larval nematodes migrate from the specimen to the water, and collect in the rubber tubing.
