The CAS Registry number is a unique number assigned to a chemical by the Chemical Abstracts Service. A fairly large collection of CAS numbers, with links to safety data for many chemicals, can be found at the listing of chemicals by CAS number at the Safety Home Page of the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory at Oxford University.
