Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH)

a generalized spinal and extraspinal articular disorder characterized by calcification and ossification of ligaments, particularly of the anterior longitudinal ligament; distinct from ankylosing spondylitis or degenerative joint disease. SYN: ankylosing hyperostosis, Forestier disease, hyperostotic spondylosis.
