Dorsal digital artery

[TA] one of the collateral digital branches of the dorsal metatarsal arteries in the foot, and/or of the dorsal metacarpal arteries in the hand; unlike the palmar digital arteries, the dorsal digital arteries are exhausted in the region of the middle phalanx and do not reach the distal digit. SYN: arteria digitalis dorsalis [TA].
