Enterogastrone

A hormone, obtained from intestinal mucosa, which inhibits gastric secretion and motility; secretion of enterogastrone is stimulated by exposure of duodenal mucosa to dietary lipids. Some effects attributed to enterogastrone may be due to glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide. SYN: anthelone E, enteroanthelone.
