Free sugars

"Free sugars" are all monosaccharides [simple sugars] and disaccharides [sugars composed of two monosaccharides] (including refined sugars from cane, beet and corn) added to foods by the manufacturer, cook or consumer, plus sugars naturally present in honey, syrups and fruit juices.
