[TA] uppermost of the abdominopelvic splanchnic that arises from the fifth or sixth to the ninth or tenth thoracic sympathetic ganglia in the thorax and passes inferiorly along the bodies of the thoracic vertebrae, penetrating the diaphragm to join the celiac plexus; conveys presynaptic sympathetic fibers to the celiac ganglia and visceral afferent fibers from the celiac plexus.
