Hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin (medical condition)

A harmless blood variant. At birth, fetal hemoglobin is usually replaced by adult hemoglobin within a few months. Persistence of fetal hemoglobin means that some of the fetal hemoglobin still remains in production. The blood anomaly remains for life but causes no problems.
