Lupus erythematosus profundus

a subcutaneous panniculitis with marked lymphocyte infiltration of fat lobules giving rise to deep-seated, firm, rubbery nodules that sometimes become ulcerated, usually of the face; may occur in systemic and localized lupus erythematosus. SYN: lupus profundus.
