[TA] the large midline opening in the posterior inferior part of the roof of the fourth ventricle, connecting the ventricle with the posterior cerebellomedullary cistern (cisterna magna). SYN: apertura mediana ventriculi quarti [TA], arachnoid foramen, foramen of Magendie.
