[TA] muscles acting on and comprising most of the mass of the soft palate and bounding the isthmus of the fauces; included are the levator and tensor veli palatini muscles, the muscle of the uvula, the palatoglossus, and palatopharyngeus. SYN: musculi palati mollis et faucium [TA].
