Mycobacterium avium

DF: A bacterium causing tuberculosis in domestic fowland other birds. In pigs, it may cause localizedand sometimes disseminated disease. The organismoccurs occasionally in sheep and cattle. It shouldbe distinguished from the M. avium complex, whichinfects primarily humans.
