A phenomenon in which neutrophilic leukocytes are stimulated by a substance in such a manner that they are either attracted and move toward it (positive neutrotaxis), or repelled and move away from it (negative neutrotaxis); in some instances, there is no effect (sometimes called indifferent neutrotaxis).
