Roux-en-Y anastomosis

anastomosis of the distal end of the divided jejunum to the stomach, bile duct, or another structure, with implantation of the proximal end into the side of the jejunum at a suitable distance usually more than 40 cm below the first anastomosis. The bowel then forms a Y-shaped pattern.
