Spasmodic dysphonia

a spasmodic contradiction of the intrinsic muscles of the larynx excited by attempted phonation, producing either adductor or abductor subtypes caused by a central nervous system disorder. A localized form of movement disorder. SYN: dysphonia spastica, spastic dysphonia.
