Temporary Safe Reference Action Level

The Temporary Safe Reference Action Level of a potentially hazardous chemical is the maximum inhalation level at which, over a short period of time, the chemical is supposed not to present a significant hazard. The level of the chemical in the environment should nevertheless be reduced as rapidly as possible by improvements in ventilation, for example, or ameliorated through the use of suitable protection, such as breathing apparatus.
