Acute febrile polyneuritis

An inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves. The condition is characterized by weakness, numbness or tingling in the legs or arms or occasionally loss of movement and feeling in the legs, arms, upper body and face. Some patients have minor symptoms and others suffer severe symptoms such as paralysis. Also called Guillain-Barre syndrome or infectious polyneuritis.
