The fire-fighting action taken to prevent, control, or extinguish fire involving, or adjacent to, an aircraft for the purpose of providing maximum fuselage integrity and escape area for its occupants. Rescue and fire-fighting personnel, to the extent possible, will assist in evacuation of the aircraft using normal and emergency means of egress. Additionally, rescue and fire-fighting personnel will, by whatever means necessary, and to the extent possible, enter the aircraft and provide all possible assistance in the evacuation of the occupants.
