Ambulatory Health Care Facility

A building or part thereof used to provide services or treatment to four or more patients at the same time and meeting either (1) or (2). (1) Those facilities that provide, on an outpatient basis, treatment for patients that would render them incapable of taking action for self-preservation under emergency conditions without assistance from others, such as hemodialysis units or freestanding emergency medical units. (2) Those facilities that provide, on an outpatient basis, surgical treatment requiring general anesthesia.
