Amycolatopsis

A genus of gram-positive, filamentous bacteria, defined as a separate genus in 1986, which tends to break up into square fragments; recovered from soil and vegetable matter; Amycolatopsis is rare human pathogen that has been recovered from various clinical specimens, including spinal fluid. The type species is Amycolatopsis orientalis.
