Argyll Robertson pupil (medical condition)

An eye disorder where the pupils can respond to changes in distance (accommodation) but not to light. The pupil doesn't respond normally to light changes (dilate or constrict). One or both eyes may be involved. The condition is often associated with syphilis that involves the nerves but may also occur in conditions such as multiple sclerosis, virus infections and heredodegenerative conditions. See also Argyll-Robertson syndrome
