Bing test

(bing) a tuning fork test in which the vibrating fork is held against the mastoid process and the auditory meatus is alternately occluded and left open; an increase and decrease in loudness (positive Bing) is perceived by the normal ear and in sensorineural hearing loss , whereas lack of a difference in loudness (negative Bing) is the perception in conductive hearing loss .
