A rare disorder involving abnormal steroid metabolism due to an enzyme 17-@beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 4) deficiency. The symptoms which make the condition appear very similar to another condition called neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy. See also Peroxisomal bifunctional enzyme deficiency
