Emission standard

An Emission Standard is a regulatory limit on the amount of a toxic (or potentially toxic) chemical that may be emitted from a source (often but not necessarily some sort of industrial plant). Various forms of emission standard exist; the simplest is the so-called Uniform Emissions Standard (UES) which places the same limit on all emissions of a particular product.
