Endocardial fibroelastosis

endomyocardial fibroelastosis [MIM*305300, MIM*226000] (1) a congenital condition characterized by thickening of the left ventricular wall endocardium (chiefly due to fibrous and elastic tissue), thickening and malformation of the cardiac valves, subendocardial changes in the myocardium, and hypertrophy of the heart; chief symptoms are cyanosis, dyspnea, anorexia, and irritability; (2) SYN: endomyocardial fibrosis.
