A tight, continuous partition suitable for use in a cooling tower environment having a fire-resistance rating of 20 minutes or more when tested in accordance with NFPA 251, Standard Methods of Tests of Fire Endurance of Building Construction and Materials. The partition shall extend from 1 ft below the operating water level of the cold water basin to the underside of the fan deck (counterflow towers) or distribution basin (crossflow towers).
