Fitz-Hugh and Curtis syndrome (medical condition)

A complication of upper genital tract infections in females where the membrane lining the stomach (peritoneum) and tissues surrounding the liver become inflamed. The infections involved are usually Chlamydia or gonorrhea. In some cases the diaphragm is also involved. See also Fitz-Hugh syndrome
