[TA] the anterior and larger terminal branch (with the parietal branch) of the middle meningeal artery; runs in deep bony groove, often perforating the bone of the lateralmost part of the sphenoid ridge, supplying the anterior portion of the lateral and superior dura and inner table and diploë of cranium.
