Gaenslen's test

A test used to detect musculoskeletal abnormalities of the sacroiliac joint. The test involves having the patient lie in a supine position with one buttock over the edge of the examining table. The leg is lowered over the edge while the other remains near the chest. An abnormality of the sacroiliac joint will cause pain.
