(for bilirubin in urine) add to 10 mL of urine 5 mL of a 10 per cent solution of barium chloride, mix, and filter. Spread filter paper on dry filter paper. Add one to two drops of Fouchet reagent (trichloroacetic acid 25 g, water 100 mL, and 10 per cent solution of ferric chloride 10 mL); a positive reaction gives a blue to green color.
