Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor

heterogeneous group of morphologically similar lesions composed of myofibroblasts, plasma cells, and other chronic inflammatory cells. In children and young adults, occurs preferentially in soft tissue and viscera and shows clonal features. In adults, it may occur in any site and is usually not clonal.pseudotumor. SYN: omental mesenteric myxoid hamartoma, plasma cell pseudotumor.
