Lyell's disease

A rare disease that occurs in newborns and is caused by upper respiratory staphylococcal infection. It results in the appearance and spread of red spots across the body followed by peeling of large areas of skin. The condition may be fatal if not treated. Also called Ritter's disease or dermatitis exfoliativa neonatorum.
