A recessively inherited nerve disease which affects sensation and the eyes. Neurotrophic keratitis is a degenerative eye disease caused by damage to the trigeminal nerve. The lack of sensation in the limbs results in frequent damage to the tissues as the patient is unaware of pain or temperature. See also Neuropathy congenital sensory neurotrophic keratitis
