Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy due to focal adenomatous hyperplasia (medical condition)

A rare genetic disorder where abnormal islets of Langerhans cells in the pancreas produce excess insulin which causes very low blood sugar levels. Untreated low blood sugar can cause permanent brain damage. See also Nesidioblastosis of pancreas
