Persistent truncus arteriosus (medical condition)

A congenital heart defect that occurs during fetal development where the truncus arteriosis fails to separate into an aorta and pulmonary aorta before birth. This causes blood from both ventricles to mix. See also Persistent Truncus Arteriosus
