WIND-BORNE DEBRIS REGION

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) definition for areas within hurricane prone regions that are located either (1) within one mile of the coastal mean high water line where the basic wind speed is equal to or greater than 110 mph and in Hawaii, or (2) areas where the basic wind speed is equal to or greater than 120 mph. (Note: Hurricane prone regions are areas in the United States and its territories that are vulnerable to hurricanes. They include the US Atlantic Ocean; the Gulf of Mexico coasts where basic wind speed is great than 90 mph; Hawaii; Puerto Rico; Guam; Virgin Islands and American Samoa.)
