[TA] short quadrangular ligament, actually a thickening of the posterior aspect of the costotransverse joint, extending from the tip of the transverse process to the posterior surface of the neck of the rib. SYN: ligamentum costotransversarium laterale [TA], ligamentum costotransversarium posterius, ligamentum tuberculi costae, posterior costotransverse ligament.
