(pawl´ bә-nel´ da´vid-son) a type of heterophile antibody test for infectious mononucleosis , a modification of the Paul-Bunnell test that differentiates among three types of heterophile sheep erythrocyte agglutinins: those associated with infectious mononucleosis , those associated with serum sickness , and natural antibodies against Forssman antigen .
