Radiation sickness, gastrointestinal syndrome (medical condition)

Tissue injury can result from exposure to radiation. The radiation dose, rate of dosing and tissues irradiated will determine the severity and type of symptoms. The effects may be chronic, delayed or acute. Gastrointestinal syndrome involves exposure of the whole body to radiation of 400 rads or more.
