Grasping reflex

an involuntary flexion of the fingers to tactile or tendon stimulation on the palm of the hand, producing an uncontrollable grasp; usually associated with frontal lobe lesions. Cf.: darwinian reflex SYN: forced grasping reflex, grasp reflex.
