Heliotaxis

A form of phototaxis, and perhaps of thermotaxis, in which there is a tendency to growth or movement toward (positive heliotaxis) or away from (negative heliotaxis) the sun or the sunlight. SYN: heliotropism. [helio- + G. taxis, orderly arrangement]
