Secondary screw-worm

an accidental or facultative screw-worm that enters an existing wound or suppurated condition and feeds on infected rather than intact tissues. Many blowflies are included, such as Calliphora vicina, Phaenicia sericata, Phormia regina, Cochliomyia macellaria, Chrysomyia species, and other fleshflies.
